A young British man used nail clippers to circumcise himself, he was taken to a hospital, the Telegraph reports.

Both Vodafone and Orange want to buy T-Mobile UK, according to sources, Orange is in advanced talks with T-Mobile and Vodafone is trying to gatecrash the deal, the Times reports.
Vodafone, the country’s second-biggest mobile operator, revealed yesterday that it had made a preliminary approach to the German group.
The rumoured price-tag for T-Mobile is around £3 billion.

British citizens will never be forced to carry ID cards as Home Secretary Alan Johnson said that a trial scheme that was to force some airport staff to carry the controversial cards has been scrapped, the Daily Mail reports.

A five-year-old child survived the crash this morning of a Yemeni airlines Airbus A310 which hit the Indian Ocean with 153 people aboard as it was attempting to land on the Comoros islands, the Times reports.

The UK economy shrank 2.4% in the first quarter, its largest contraction since 1958, The Telegraph reports.
The decline in gross domestic product (GDP) was greater than an earlier estimate from the Office for National Statistics of 1.9% as the recession deepened, hitting industries from manufacturing to services, according to the report.
The drop on the quarter was the biggest since 1958.

Yemenia’s Airbus A310 with 153 people on board crashed in the Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros yesterday.
The aircraft was approaching the main island, Grande Comoro, when it disappeared from radar screens, the Times reports.
