Obama and Putin – new best mates
New best mates have emerged – US President Barack Obama praised Russian Prime Minister and de facto leader Vladimir Putin for his “extraordinary work” as president and PM, only a week after he said that Putin has one foot in the past.
“I am aware of not only the extraordinary work that you’ve done on behalf of the Russian people in your previous role as prime minis-, uh, as president, but in your current role as prime minister,” Obama said, according to the BBC.
Only last week Obama said that Putin was a man with a cold war mentality who still had one foot in the past. Funny how fast his sentiments change, like a weathercock.
