A 54-year-old carpenter Stuart Keen of Wantage, England, accidentally cut off his own penis while working with a saw and having been drinking, UPI reports.
Keen’s mother, Edna, said that her son had been cutting wood for a cabinet when “the saw inflicted” the horrific injury, according to the report. Surgeons were able to reattach the severed appendage, she said.

Ireland will hold a second referendum on the EU’s controversial Lisbon Treaty on 2 October, the BBC reports. The treaty which is widely regarded as European Constitution that would, among other issues, create an unelected presidency of the EU, was rejected by Irish voters in June last year.

Low-cost airline easyJet has finally announced plans to fly to Israel six times a week starting from 2nd November, the Jewish Chronicle reports.
The airline will fly between London Luton and Tel Aviv Gen Gurion, and single fares will start from £71.98, return from £102.98, according to the report. Flights are on all weekdays except Friday, and tickets will go on sale on www.easyjet.com later today.

Food prices are rising at more than three times the rate of pay – food price inflation is at 5.6%, while average pay rise just 1.8%, the Daily Mail reports.
The British Retail Consortium said food price inflation came down from 6.4 per cent in May to 5.6 per cent in June. Total shop price inflation, including all other goods, came down from 1.3 per cent to 0.7 per cent, according to the report.
