Asda drop fuel prices below £1
Supermarket chain Asda cut their petrol and diesel to 99.9p per litre, saying there was “little justification” for charging more than £1 at the pumps, the Telegraph reports.
The price cut was made on fuel at the company’s 176 forecourts on Thursday.
“There is no justification for any major retailer selling fuel above £1 per litre – that is why we are delighted to be able to reduce both petrol and diesel to 99.9p per litre for all our customers in line with falling costs,” David Miles, the firm’s commercial director, said.
According to website petrolprices.com, yesterday the average charge per litre for unleaded was 103.8p, ranging between 99.9p and 115.9p, while the average for diesel was 105.3p, ranging between 99.9p and 117.0p.
Seems to me that I’ve got to drive to Croydon to fill up next time. Around me the petrol stations charge as high as 105.9p for litre of petrol. Which is insane, especially compared to Asda’s price.

For the good folk of Buckingham who are subjected to their fuel suppliers all united in their unlawful greed.( Price fixing is more than obvious) Start fueling your vehicle in Milton Keynes, where you will find fuel at least three pence less. This latest increase will only start an additional cost on every thing we buy, so Mr Brown well done keep digging, but please stay in the hole alone leave the rest of the long suffering tax payers out of your mess.
