86% of Americans want abortion restrictions

11th July 2009 By Sten One Comment

As US President Barack Obama promised the Pope yesterday to try to reduce the number of abortions in the States, a new poll found that 86 per cent of Americans want restrictions to abortions.

According to the poll, 86% of Americans would significantly restrict abortion and 60% would limit abortion to cases of rape, incest or to save the life of a mother, or would not allow it at all, Newsmax reports.

53% of Americans believe abortion does more harm than good to a woman in the long term, 80% believe that laws can protect both the health of the woman and the life of the unborn.

It’s nice to see the pro-life movement growing stronger and stronger, and hopefully this doesn’t happen only in America, but worldwide. People should start realizing that abortion is not a contraceptive, but pure and simple murder of an innocent child.
