Like 220 years ago a herd of angry mob, incited by communist criminals, marched to the prison of Bastille, last night a bunch of modern French criminals set on fire more than 300 cars and wounded at least 13 policemen.
Police said at least 317 cars were burnt and at least 240 people were arrested, the Telegraph reports.

More than 12,000 postal workers are to strike on Friday in a row over jobs, pay and services, the Communication Workers Union has announced.
The 24-hour strike will affect cities ranging from Edinburgh to Plymouth, the BBC reports. It follows a series of strikes in cities in recent weeks, with workers in London taking part in a three-day strike earlier this month.
The union accuses Royal Mail of cutting the pay of employees and reducing services.

Scientists are working on an anti-obesity pill that could reduce the fat stored by overweight people by almost a half in a week, the Daily Mail reports.
Tests on mice have shown that the drug could decrease body weight by a quarter and their fat content by 42 per cent after seven days. After a month, the weight of the mice had been reduced by 28 per cent and their fat mass by 63 per cent.

More than half of Britons – 54% – want to see the Trident nuclear missiles scrapped, a poll suggested.
Support for the renewal of the system has fallen by 9 per cent in the last three years, a survey by ICM for the Guardian newspaper suggested, and 54 per cent of those questioned wanted the UK’s nuclear weapons axed entirely, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown rejected a recommendation by military chiefs to send 2,000 more troops to Afghanistan despite being warned that not doing so could jeopardise the mission against the Taleban, and sent only 700 extra troops instead, the Times reports.
The extra troops are in Afghanistan only on a temporary basis in the run-up to the presidential elections in August.
