Microsoft are offering college and university students a reduced price version of their Windows 7 operating system – both the Home Premium and Professional will be available for £30 each, compared to the normal retail prices of £79.99 and £189.99 respectively, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Students can pre-order Microsoft’s next-generation operating system from 30th September, with Windows 7 scheduled to hit shops on 22nd October. Microsoft said the offer was ideal for those students who couldn’t afford to buy a new PC with Windows 7 pre-installed, but still wanted access to the latest cutting-edge tools and software.
