New Zealand least corrupt country, UK 17th
New Zealand is the least corrupt country in the world, according to International Transparency Organisation’s this year’s Corruption Perceptions Index, the United Kingdom is 17th least corrupt.
The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) measures the perceived level of public-sector corruption in 180 countries and territories around the world. The CPI is a “survey of surveys”, based on 13 different expert and business surveys.
Denmark is 2nd least corrupt country in the world, and Singapore and Sweden share the 3rd place. Switzerland is 5th, Finland and Netherlands share 6th spot. Australia, Canada and Iceland landed 8th.
Germany and Ireland share 14th place, and the United Kingdom is 17th with Japan. United States is 19th, France 24th, Estonia 27th, Israel and Spain 32nd.
The most corrupt country according to the survey is Somalia, close second from that end come Afghanistan, Burma, Sudan and Iraq.
