Oliver Stone empathises with Stalin, calls Hitler “scapegoat”
American extreme left-wing film director Oliver Stone said that nazi Germany’s dictator Adolf Hitler is an “easy scapegoat”, and that he empathises with Soviet dictator and mass murderer of tens of millions, Joseph Stalin.
What makes a person so narrow-minded, senseless and, in fact, a blithering idiot, is beyond me, and probably beyond any reasonable person. But unfortunately there are hundreds of thousands of imbeciles around the world who actually agree with Stone’s recent statements and praise mass-murdering dictators themselves.
Stone made his outrageous comments about the mass murderers while promoting his new television documentary series on 20th century America. The controversial series, entitled “Oliver Stone’s Secret History of America” is an attempt to redress what he believes is a biased version of history taught in American schools, the Daily Mail reports.
One show that focuses entirely on a more positive side of Hitler – whose Nazi regime was responsible for the extermination of six million Jews – is purported to be the most shocking episode.
Speaking about the 10-hour series, to be shown on US television, at a critics’ screening in California, Stone said: “We can’t judge people as only “bad” or “good”. [Hitler] is the product of a series of actions. It’s cause and effect. People in America don’t know the connection between World War I and World War II.” He added that “Hitler is an easy scapegoat throughout history and it’s been used cheaply”.
Stalin, he says, has “a complete other story. Not to paint him as a hero, but to tell a more factual representation. He fought the German war machine more than any person.”
Apparently, in his urge to rewrite world history, Oliver Stone forgot that Stalin was Hitler’s ally from 1939 to 1941. Apparently, Stone forgot that Hitler and Stalin forged a criminal and illegal pact dividing Europe between them and thus occupying most of Europe – and moreover, when nazi occupation came to an end in 1945, the Soviet occupation, resulting directly from Hitler-Stalin secret pact, lasted until 1991.
Stone also claimed that he has been able to “walk in Stalin’s shoes and Hitler’s shoes, to understand their point of view. You cannot approach history unless you have empathy for the person you may hate.”
Interesting, how did Stone walk in Hitler’s and Stalin’s shoes. Did he murder six million Jews and almost made European Jewry extinct? Did he murder 20 million Russians and other people from Soviet-occupied territories? Or does this just prove that he really is a blithering idiot?
Freedom of speech is a nice thing. But it should be limited to people who have brains and are able use them.
