The General Election may be held on 6th May – the same day as the local council elections – as Europe Minister Chris Bryant apparently accidentally confirmed the date.
Tory-Politico.com reports that Bryant, speaking to diplomats at Canning House, a diplomatic think-tank, said yesterday referring to recent tensions between Britain and South American countries: “I hope that by the time of the General Election on May 6, relations will have improved.”

Conservative leader David Cameron and his Liberal Democrat counterpart Nick Clegg demanded immediate General Election to be called after yesterday’s coup attempt by former ministers against Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
