Dan Brown’s latest book “The Lost Symbol” has bagged the top spot in the Christmas book charts.

Google are launching a new online service for booksellers next year called Google Editions, which will let readers buy books and read them on gadgets ranging from mobile phones to possibly e-book devices, the AP reports.
It’s the first foray into charging for books for the company, which began their Google Books program in 2004, and will put it in competition with Amazon.com’s Kindle reader.

The first official history of MI5, published this morning, reveals the extent to which the security service suspected leftwingers during the Cold War and believed that three Labour MPs were Soviet bloc agents, the Guardian reports.
