They’ll conquer us all and rule us with iron fist…

A few months ago Google started quite an intensive ad campaign for their Chrome browser. First, all free newspapers in London were full of Chrome ads, and now I recently noticed huge billboards telling us why we all should use Chrome. One of those billboards is at Victoria Station, right where trains enter and exit the station.
I have used Chrome and it’s a good browser.

Google’s next smartphone aimed at business users

The next version of Google’s Nexus One mobile phone will be designed with enterprise users in mind and might have a physical keyboard,the Daily Telegraph reports.

Google threaten to pull out of China over censorship

Google said that they are ready to close down their business and quit China because of the country’s increasing censorship, the Daily Telegraph reports.
In a head-to-head confrontation with the Chinese Government, the company said that they will pull out of the country unless they are allowed to provide a totally uncensored service.

Complaints greet Google Nexus One

Google are being inundated with complaints about their Nexus One phone, the BBC reports.
Many people are unhappy with Google only responding to questions by e-mail and are calling for them to set up phone-based support.

Family of Blade Runner author sue Google over Nexus One name

The family of the late Philip K. Dick, the author whose book inspired the Blade Runner film, are to sue Google for infringement of intellectual property rights as Nexus One shares a model name with the cyborgs used in the film.

How to get Nexus One in UK before others?

Google’s new smartphone, Nexus One, is so far officially sold only in the United States, and will arrive in Europe soon. Google’s website says that it will be sold through Vodafone in spring 2010, but if you can’t wait that long, there is a way to get it quicker.

Google unveil Nexus One smartphone

Google finally revealed their first smartphone, Nexus One, today after months of frenzied speculation about its arrival, the Daily Mail reports.
The phone will be sold through a Google hosted web store. Users can buy an unlocked version in the US for $529 (£331) or with a T Mobile contract for $179 (£112).

First glimpse at Google’s Nexus One smartphone

A video clip purporting to show Google’s new Android phone, the Nexus One, being removed from its packaging, has appeared online, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Google’s new mobile phone, code named Nexus One, could be available already as early as 5th January, Reuters reports.
According to a source familiar with the matter, Google plan to sell two versions of the phone: one with a service contract with T-Mobile in US, and another that is unlocked.
The phone is manufactured by HTC. Pricing details are not available.

Google announced that real-time news from Twitter and other information from the internet will start appearing in search results, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Under the new Google system, real-time information will feature directly in regular search results pages. The freshest tweets on any online search topic will scroll past in real-time, without any need to refresh the page.

Some of the biggest names on the web have written to Business Secretary Peter Mandelson to express “grave concerns” about elements of the Digital Economy Bill, the BBC reports.

Google preview Chrome operating system

Internet giant Google have lifted the lid on their operating system, known as Chrome OS, the BBC reports.
The free and open source system is initially aimed at low-cost netbooks and does away with many of the features of a traditional program. All applications are designed to run in a web browser and all the user’s data is stored on Google’s servers.

Internet giant Google have entered the online music market with a new service for finding and buying music online, the BBC reports.
OneBox is an alliance with music sites Lala and MySpace-owned iLike. The US-only service allows people to search using song titles, artists or using snippets of lyrics and will also stream sought-after tracks.
According to Google, the words “music” and “lyrics” are among the top 10 search terms of all time.
