Google have announced the new version of their Android mobile phone operating system, which has many improvements over the last version.
Android 2.0 will support multiple accounts for email and contact synchronisation and a combined inbox lets the user look at messages from a number of sources in one place. SMS handling has also been polished and one can now search saved messages and automatically delete old messages after a predefined time limit, Mobile Computer reports.

Microsoft’s new operating system Windows 7 is going on sale tomorrow, Microsoft are hoping that the successor to Vista will be more of a hit with users when it launches, the BBC reports.
In the UK some computer stores are due to open at midnight so keen PC users can get their hands on the software.

Windows 7 is complete and the final code of Microsoft’s new operating system has been sent to manufacturers, the AP reports.
Companies that have long-term agreements to buy Microsoft software in bulk will be able to download and start installing Windows 7 in a few weeks.
Then starting 22nd October, Windows 7 will come on new PCs, and will be available for people to buy separately and install on their existing machines.

Google released names of nine of their initial partners they have enlisted to develop and market their Chrome operating system to the masses as early as the second half of 2010, the IT Pro Portal reports.
The hardware partners are: Acer, Asus, Toshiba, HP, Lenovo, Freescale, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. Adobe is the software partner which means that Flash will be bundled with Chrome OS at launch.

Google are developing their own operating system (OS) – Google Chrome OS – for personal computers, in a direct challenge to market leader Microsoft and its Windows system, the BBC reports.
Chrome OS will be aimed initially at netbooks, and netbooks with Chrome OS could be on sale by the middle of 2010.

I have been using Windows 7 Beta for more than four months now and I have to admit, I have never ever been more satisfied with Windows.
