Trainee Israeli spy gets arrested by TA police

An apprentice spy for Israel’s Mossad intelligence service was arrested by police during an abortive training exercise in Tel Aviv, AFP reports.
The novice spy was spotted on Monday planting a dummy bomb under a vehicle in the city by a woman passer-by who swiftly alerted a passing policeman.

Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah’s missiles have now the capacity to reach Israel’s central region, including the capital Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv, Arutz 7 reports.

easyJet officially launch London-Tel Aviv route

Europe’s leading low-cost airline easyJet celebrated on Monday the launch of their London Luton-Tel Aviv route at Ben-Gurion Airport with the company’s top officials and the first 171 passengers arriving on the first flight, Ynet reports.
With 100,000 passengers expected for the first year, easyJet are operating a brand new Airbus A320 and will be flying six days a week, excluding Fridays.

Israel’s Military Intelligence chief Major General Amos Yadlin says that terror organizations in Gaza have significantly improved their ability to attack Israeli population centres, and in recent days, several successful tests of Iranian-made rockets have been carried out, adding that the rockets have a range of up to 40 miles, which means that the Tel Aviv area is under threat of rocket fire from the Strip, Jerusalem Post reports.

Israel remembers Yitzhak Rabin, 14 years after assassination

Israel today remembers the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated, according to the Hebrew calendar, today 14 years ago.
Rabin was murdered in the evening 4th November, 1995, or on 12th Cheshvan, 5756 (as Jewish day begins on sunset, and the assassination took place after the sun had set). According to the Hebrew calendar, today is 11th Cheshvan, 5770, and 12th Cheshvan starts at sunset.

Three Arab youngsters were charged Thursday with the first-degree murder of 59-year-old Israeli Leonard “Arik” Karp on the Tel Baruch boardwalk some two weeks ago.
The indictment was filed with the Tel Aviv District Court against Jaljulia residents Jamil Adas (25), Abd el-Rahman (21) and a 17-year-old boy whose identity has yet to be revealed. The three were also charged with aggravated assault and battery, Ynet reports.

The popular Tel Aviv club “Rogatka” that refused to serve Israeli Defence Forces’ soldiers in uniforms, is to be closed down, according to a commentator on The Empire Chronicles.
“Sometimes there is justice! This morning, according to Army Radio, Rogatka is to be closed down due to lack of license,” commentator “Linichka” wrote.

A masked man entered a club for gay teens in central Tel Aviv yesterday, pulled out a pistol and shot in all directions, killing two and wouding 15 people.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told Ha’aretz the man then holstered his pistol and fled the scene by foot to the busy streets of Tel Aviv.

A popular nightclub in Tel Aviv called “Rogatka” (slingshot) is refusing entry to Israeli Defence Forces’ soldiers in uniforms, because the uniforms are apparently associated with “oppression and genocide”, according to an Israeli blog called The Muqata.

Low-cost airline easyJet has finally announced plans to fly to Israel six times a week starting from 2nd November, the Jewish Chronicle reports.
The airline will fly between London Luton and Tel Aviv Gen Gurion, and single fares will start from £71.98, return from £102.98, according to the report. Flights are on all weekdays except Friday, and tickets will go on sale on www.easyjet.com later today.

Tel Aviv City’s Enforcement Department revealed that the metropolitan area of one of the largest cities in Israel is lacking a staggering 324,000 parking spots, Ynet reports.
It is also stated that the shortage results in over 3,000 parking tickets a day, most of which are given between 5pm and 7 pm, in central Tel Aviv.
Tel Aviv residents themselves own 152,000 vehicles, the newspaper says, but incoming traffic sees more than 450,000 cars enter the city …
