An Iranian commander said 36 people died in unrest after June’s disputed election, including three in a Tehran prison, more than the official figures but half the number claimed by the opposition, Reuters reports.
“Despite news disseminated by foreign (media) networks, the unrest had 36 deaths in all,” Abdollah Araghi of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards said.

At least 140 people have been killed in rioting in the capital of China’s northwestern region of Xinjiang, in one of the worst case of ethnic unrest in years, the Telegraph reports.
Chinese government has blamed exiled Muslim separatists for the unrest .
Hundreds of rioters were arrested after rock-throwing Uighurs took to the streets of the regional capital on Sunday, some burning and smashing vehicles and confronting ranks of anti-riot police, according to the report.

It seems from the news that the protests in Iran are dying down and the oppressive regime gets another green light to perform its atrocities on people. However, the defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi is still calling his supporters to maintain peaceful protests, despite that the government confirmed the election result.

According to Arutz 7, Iranian anti-regime activists are hoping for an Israeli technological hand to help them fight the Islamic Republic. As of now, hundreds of protesters have been killed by the regime, which is evidently using Arabic-speaking armed thugs from Hizbullah to help perpetrate the violence.

Iranian authorities arrested 70 academics who met with opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi on Wednesday, other prominent dissidents, as well as at least 10 foreign and 26 Iranian journalists have “disappeared” in recent days, Arutz 7 reports.
It is not known where the professors were taken.
Despite the risk, protesters clashed again Wednesday with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s special Basij militia force, which has brutalized many of the demonstrators since the June 12 elections.

US President Barack Obama today declared the United States and the entire world “appalled and outraged” by Iran’s violent efforts to crush dissent, a clear toughening of his rhetoric as Republican critics at home pound him for being too passive, the AP reports.

Iran’s police threaten people with violence, saying they’re ready to use force to prevent an opposition rally in Tehran.
Hundreds of police have gathered in the city centre, amid an atmosphere of extreme tension, the BBC reports.
People contacting the BBC from Tehran spoke of a heavy security presence in the area around Enghelab Square. Users of the micro-blogging site Twitter said protesters were gathering.

The protests and unrest in Iran are going to continue despite of yesterdays threats made by country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
On Saturday an opposition rally will take place, the wife of the defeated presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi, Zahra Rahnavard, and an aide to another candidate, Mehdi Karroubi, said, according to the BBC.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told the “defeated” presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi to support the Iranian regime, or be cast out.
Khamenei told Mousavi to stand beside him as he uses Friday prayers at Tehran University to call for national unity, the Times reports. Army of Basiji – Islamic volunteer militiamen – are also expected to be bussed in to support the Ayatollah.

Members of the terrorist group Hamas are helping the Iranian authorities to crush street protests in support of the presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi, two protesters told the Jerusalem Post yesterday.
Hamas formally welcomed President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s victory. The terrorist group receives weapons and funding from Iran, and its members have often received training there, the Post says.

Iran’s authorities are technically putting foreign journalists in house arrest, to prevent them from firsthand reporting on the streets.
According to the AP, the rules apply to all foreign journalists, including Iranians working for foreign media. According to the order, journalists working for foreign media are only allowed to work from their offices, conducting telephone interviews and monitoring official sources such as state television.
