Obama intends to end Afghan mission within three years

US President Barack Obama intends to conclude the Afghanistan mission and withdraw most US troops within three years, the CNN reports.
Obama is also sending 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan and ordering military officials to get the reinforcements there within six months.
The conflict in Afghanistan has claimed the lives of more than 900 Americans and nearly 600 allied troops.

US President Barack Obama will announce tonight that he is sending 30,000 more US troops to Afghanistan to be deployed over the next six months, Fox News reports.

Actor Gary Sinise and his band, the Lt Dan Band, will travel to Afghanistan to perform for US troops at three military bases during Thanksgiving week.

White House to send over 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan

The White House and military officials are leaning toward sending more than 30,000 additional US troops to Afghanistan, Fox News reports.

Fourteen Americans were killed in Afghanistan on Monday in two separate incidents involving helicopters, the New York Times reports.
Seven American soldiers and three civilians were killed in a helicopter crash in western Afghanistan, and in southern Afghanistan, the midair collision of two coalition helicopters resulted in the deaths of four US soldiers.

Obama quietly authorises 13,000 more troops for Afghanistan

In an unannounced move, US President Barack Obama is dispatching an additional 13,000 US troops to Afghanistan beyond the 21,000 he announced in March, FoxNews reports.
